Vice-President Business Development EU Biologics (M/F/D)

The role

Just-Evotec Biologics is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and driven Vice-President Business Development seeking a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics.

As part of a growing team and reporting to the SVP Business Development, this role is responsible for growing biologics revenue opportunities through new and ongoing business development engagements and negotiations.

The successful candidate will have experience of operating at senior director level and will be comfortable developing end-to-end solutions with the right level of engagement and stakeholder management. Working strategically as well as being comfortable to get involved and make things happen is key for this role.

The role operates at a strategic level, up-to Executive level and will be a key driver of business development opportunities for Just Biologics globally.


Drives increasing business revenue, identifies, and develops new opportunities whilst building and expanding the presence of Just Biologics in line with corporate strategy, business plan and product portfolio in the defined territory.

Builds and grows robust relationships with potential partners, internal and external customers to bring new business opportunities to Just.

Proactively researches new markets and emerging trends, recommending new products and services, proposes and develops new strategic partnerships to expand the portfolio.

Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building and expanding the Just portfolio.

Supports business development engagements and negotiations focusing on Evotec's biologics.

Manages and coordinates cross-functional teams through evaluation of opportunities and interactions with potential partners.

Develops and negotiates term sheets and contracts, identifies solutions when needed to reach agreement on key deal terms.

Identification, communication and management of risks and opportunities with new and existing partnerships and strategic alliances.

Represents Just-Evotec Biologics at conferences, regional associations/bio clusters.

Actively contribute to all aspects of business development including marketing (market & competitive intelligence, Value proposition definition, etc).

Recruit, coach and manage small local BD team as the business will develop (mid-term job expectations)

The Individual

Capability, Knowledge, and Experience:

Strategic, creative thinker with ability to create innovative business solutions, structures, and concepts

Excellent collaborative negotiation skills

Ability to communicate accessibly and concisely about product or service to external parties, including prospective customers and clients, partners, vendors.

Strong business and financial acumen with superior quantitative analytical abilities

Proactive, team player with strong sense of urgency

Proven experience of relationship management at executive levels

Advanced strategic planning skills

Excellent financial and business acumen

Education and Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree plus advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., M.D., J.D. and/or M.B.A.) in a scientific discipline (required)

Advanced level of business development knowledge, skills, and experience.

Minimum 10 years of experience of selling Biologics related CRO or CDMO services or technologies within biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry

Proven track record of successfully executing deals from sourcing to deal close

Demonstrated experience in biologics drug discovery, development, and manufacturing
