This position is located in our Head Office. Geographically, this position will serve Paris-Ile de France and Normandy (potentially up to 12 departments), with direct report to the France field offices manager.

Job description:

Define and execute the commercial strategy in the Paris/Ile de France area

Lead the distribution, define brokers management segmentation

Lead Sales actions for Paris -Ile de France and Normandy

Regularly report and forecast results

Along with the other Branch managers, in Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Nantes and Strasbourg, the BDM (Business Development Manager) or Responsable Commercial(e) Paris/Ile de France plays a key leadership role in driving the business locally.

Key Responsibilities:

Broker management

Maintain our visibility and increase our market share on this market, develop our GWP together with our profitability. (Management of a portfolio of Paris/Ile de France and Normandy based brokers)

Maintain our local commercial presence in managing and developing relationship with brokers across all lines of business

Definition of budgets by line and by broker for the main brokers : Big3 - Cornerstones -SGBs

Definition of visitation plans for him/herself and for others: SGBs, Brokers to revitalise, new brokers .

Ensuring efficiency of broker visits made in the region: preparation work, agreed actions, trip reports, actions follow up .

Planning broker entertainment

Analysing and monitoring of Sales KPIs by lines of business and by broker, and coming up with actions that maximise our commercial potential

In close relation with Line Managers, to promote CHUBB in the Paris-Ile de France and Normandy region,

To be well aware of CHUBB underwriting appetite for each line of business in order for brokers to feed CHUBB underwriters with qualified submissions

Represent CHUBB during professional shows or events.

Sales actions :


Sales meeting once a month with all the Regional managers

Build/develop a strong relationship/partnership with our main brokers/partners in order to proactively adapt our offer to market needs.

Ideas for product enhancement and new product development

Provide market intelligence, organize regular broker meetings

Develop new contacts in order to enlarge our foot print and reinforce our position on that market.

Internal management :

Cross work with other CHUBB underwriters and sales on specific package products

Influencing other Underwriters, as well as business Lines Managers, with whom he/she is a trusted partner.


Required profile :

Minimum 5 years of experience in P&C insurance, preferably in commercial lines.

Experience of managing brokers appreciated.
